Starship Troopers Two-Sided DVD ?

Hi there.

I just rented Starship troopers on DVD and I noticed that the DVD is two sided. However, I had also rented it a couple months ago from another video club and I don't think that it was two-sided back then... Can anyone confirm i it is two-sided or not ?

Furthermore, I have the feeling that the scene where the 1st side ends is totally irrelevant with the scene with which the 2nd side begins. Is it actually like that, or am I losing something (I feel like there's a transition scene missing) ?

so like half the movie is on one side of the disc and the other half of the movie os on the other half of the disc? i never heard of a dvd like that before. just 2 sided ones that have full screen on one side and wide screen on the other... mabey you got a boot legged dvd or something...

No there are dvds like this, mostly older ones. I have "A Time to Kill" and it is like this.

I can't comment on Starship Troopers since I've never watched the dvd but if you were to take a random chapter from a movie and look at the preceeding scene it would probably seem unrelated also. That's why they call it a scene change. If you are really concerned about it look at the total playtime and compare it to what is listed at IMDB.com, which is usually very accurate. If there is a scene missing then the times should be different.

Maybe there are multiple releases of this movie...look it up.

I have seen dvds like this.I remember airforce one,the rock...At the end of the first half of the movie a pic of spining disc appears with a message to change the side of the disc...

I can confirm this.
i have seen the s trooper double sided disc.
and i know that face off and armageddon is the same.

Armageddon is not like this, at least not the Region 2 copy I rented yesterday.

I also have Armageddon R2 and it IS two-sided with me (it's 4:3 2.35:1 AR).

there are 2 versions of armageddon, 1 with 2 sides and 1 with 2 layers (after some protest).
