Anybody got this procedure to work.
Demux a vob file into smaller vob files.
Transcode one of these smaller vob files with ReMpeg.
Then remux all the smaller vob files back together.
The new Vob works perfectly on its own.
Then put the new vob back into VIDEO_TS folder, and get VTS sectors with ifoedit. Now the movie does not play properly when you get to transcoded bit.
Any working solutions??

If you are just trying to get the file size down a little, then did you cut out the credits? You can also lower the bitrate of ac3 file, there are other ways of shrinking the project size a little without transcoding...
