you need to prosses the rip files in ifoedit before you burn them
or they will only run on your computer and not on a standalone!

What COBBY said.
Open the .ifo file maestro creates in infoedit, click get vts sectors button then click the create disc image button and burn the .img file with PrimoDVD by using the write global image function.

Why on earth would you need to use "get vts sectors" on a dvd created with Maestro? Maestro will create a perfectly valid set of vob files ready to burn directly to dvd.
You only need to use "get vts sectors" when you've messed around with a set of valid vob files. For example ripping extra streams or re-encoding using Ifoedit.
Ifoedit won't help at all in this case.
He hasn't ripped the vob files and burned them. He's ripped the audio and video strems and created a dvd with an authoring app.
We need more info to find the actual problem. Have you successfully used any other type of dvdr? What kind of dvd player do you have? Is it supposed to play dvdr? (Hint: check out www.vcdhelp.com if your not sure).

ok i have to say rjgn is right it does sound like a
media standalone dvd player problem and as rjgn said
more info on media and player is needed is this the
first time you have had this problem ? what do you
normaly do? is this the first time you have tried this
method? do any outher dvd-rs work on your standalone
dvd player?

Ok I'm now confused. I don't see why using "get vts sectors" should make any difference. Are you sure you didn't change any other variable? Did you use different burning software, different type of dvdr? Etc. Was "get vts sectors" the ONLY thing you did different this time round?
You shouldn't have to this at all if you've used an authoring app to create a set of vob files to burn.

I don't think running 'get vts sectors' solved his problem, but rather going through the process of creating an image file and burning that is what fixed it.
However since running 'get vts sectors' takes less than a second why not do it just to be sure?

The only thing i done different was use IFO edit and create an image.normaly i used spruce up but i seemed to get alot of dumb errors(but still made good dvd's)so i decided to go to maestro .i would make the movie with maestro then use prassidvd new job>data disk then add folders AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS.that method ended up with the dvd player not going to the movie and just oppening right after reading the disc.
