divx 5 for linux

does someone know if the linux version of divx5 is just as good as the windows version divx 5.02 pro (regarding QUALITY and speed) ?

any experience ?

personally i've had no problems what so ever with the linux version of 5.01 or whichever is on the divx site.

I'm not sure about encoding but the decoding is definatly smooth and in many cases was able to play video encoded a ridiculous reoltions where windows failed :) go the speed of the Athlon 800 :D

There is no divx 5 pro for linux. Only the free version without BFrames,GMC. Use lavc (ffmpeg) or xvid. They are faster, same / better quality.
