I just found out that with the new binaries I cannot correctly decode just 1 week old encodes. It gives horrible chroma errors.
Example frame: http://www.anime.cz/temp/OnV.rar, example clip http://www.anime.cz/temp/onv.avi (please download the clip only when you really want to look at it, bandwidth issues - 1.5MB)
I guess I don't need to point out how the frame should look.
The file was encoded using XviD NIC's binary downloaded on 28.10.2002. Bitrate 1700kbit, no special features (B-frames off, no QP, no GMC... just plain internal 2-pass)
Playback results are:
Nic's 28.10. binary (the one used for encoding): You just cannot distinguish it from DVD, A+
Nic's today binary (5.11.): see screenshot :(
Koepi's XviD-04102002-1.exe: not as good, but passable (light smearing on movement etc.)
Koepi's XviD-04112002-1.exe: same as new Nic, see screenshot
ffdshow build 29.10. : Same as old Koepi's filter - not perfect, but passable
DivX 5.02: Picasso style playback ^_^
If week old nic's binaries are known to have this bug then I'm sorry for useless post, but I haven't found it anywhere...
Edit: Auto-URL messed up...
