do I need to use for my Pioneer A04 and where do I get it from? And how do I see what version I have already?

if you're not having problems with your stock firmware do not upgrade it. to check the firmware revision in XP you'll need some sort of a burning program like Prassi (select the drive and hit F4) or if you have Nero there is a drive info utility that comes with it.

i am using the firmware that came with my ao4 which is 1.30
and i have no problems most burning software will display what
firmware u are using why do you want to change it?
are you having problems ?
be very cearfull about upgrading because it is very hard to go back
if not impossable;)

Do a search and apply information and firmware found at your own risk.

There is not only one answer, as people have different result for same firm, same hwd.
