I use studio 7 for creating films and I "publish" in divx.
When I installed divx 5 studio 7 gives an error immidiatly after
starting the "make" - divx 4.2 works just fine
Anyone know of any way of getting around this ?
Thanks

I've never used Pinnacle Studio before, but one (obvious) question comes to mind. What does the error say?

Hi-
Do you have both DivX4 and DivX5 installed? The 2 sometimes conflict. I might suggest uninstalling DivX4 and then reinstalling DivX5 and trying again.
And as Acaila asked-what does the error say?

It won't work. What you can do (what I do) is install a 3rd party mjpg codec (morgans is my choice) and then open the captured avi in virtual dub. Studio 7 won't ever support divx.

I thought of creating an AVI or an MPEG
and then using one of the other tools to go to divx,
but the AVI file was to big (estimated at > 4G
(its a 23 m in film) so it can't be rendered - unless I start splitting things up which is a pain in the neck...
and I dont want to lose quality by doing two conversions
by going via MPEG.
why do you thing studio 7 will never supportdivx 5 ? because
there is studio 8 ? Or do you think they won't support it there
either ?
As to the other responses - as far as I remember divx5
unistalls 4.2 - the error message I dont remember - but
it's somthing super informative like "error rendering file".
I will try it again tonightif I have time
- but as you can see I am not the only one with the problem.
