OK, can someone help me out here.
Gordian Knot encodes the credits at a different bitrate to that of the main film. What program is used to put these two AVI files back together?
Also any advice on how to do this manually? I have 3 files all with different bitrates and SLIGHTLY different audio samplerates (when I say slightly I mean 0.000001). I can't use append in Vdub as I get an error!
Anyone help me?

GKnot should append the credits to your movie file automatically. You can also do it manually by using NanDub. (That's what I use) You open your first file, then choose >Append AVI segment, open your second file. Then choose >save as AVI. Make sure both video and audio are checked with the direct stream copy. (both under its respective tab)

The tool Gordian Knot uses is called Nandub. Nandub is a variant of Virtual Dub, specifically designed for DivX 3 encoding. However, it has a lot more audio support than Virtual Dub, as well as .avi management tools. It is used by Gordian Knot, even with DivX 5, for two purposes: 1) optionally appending end-credits, if encoded separately, and 2) interleaving the audio. Nandub is used, even for mp3, as Gknot uses vbr mp3.
To append these various .avi's together, you will probably have to separate the audio streams and append them with video only. Then, using audio tools, concatenate your audio. Finally, mux the complete video and audio together.
I haven't done any concatenation of audio files, and can't give you any guidance. Were I to attempt it, I'd probably end up having to transcode to .wav format and back, and that will cause a loss of quality. However, there may be some tools around that will let you do this, and if so, I'm sure someone will point you in the right direction.
Both Nandub and Virtual Dub procedures, including appending .avi files, can be found in this Doom9 guide (http://www.doom9.org/virtualdub_procedures.htm).

Thanks a lot for your help, I thought it might have been Nandub but was not 100% sure.
I will start playing around and see what I can do, I migt be back posting for more help though soon ;)
