Hi
i normaly backup only pal movies and i use this process

1 rip smart rip
2 dvd2avi (also audio demux )
3 avisynth (frame serve)
4 cce encode
5 maestro 2.9 authoring

With this process i always get free problems backups.

Now i got my first r1 dvd with ntsc and i did the same process

First thing i noted was that maesto failed to import the m2v file from cce with the messsage " invalid frame rate".

I used (pulldown.exe m2vfile.m2v) with no extra options.

Maestro now can import the file as a asset.

Then i imported my ac3 file chapters etc etc

PROBLEM:The video is very delayed ... it's not synch with the audio...

Question do i need to "pulldown" the audio ac3 file ??

What can i do to solve this ???

With PAL movies no problem ever...

Thank you

No, pulldown is only for video. You may have to run "AC3 Delay Corrector" on the AC3 file, though. Does the title of the AC3 file created by DVD2AVI indicate any type of delay?

yes dvd2avi file reports 67ms delay..

But i'm geting for my "handmade" testing almost 20secs of the delay on the video...
This is the audio start's first than video.. by far...

Any clues ??'

i think that the original movie the ac3 file must have a star offset .
How can i check on the original ifo files this offset ?

thank you

sounds like a timecode issue.

there is an option in maestro to ignore ac3 timecode, see if that helps
