View Full Version : Adding VOB

I purchased a DVD burner, and have been utilizing the guides like mad (I don't think i've slept in a few days...), and I've made great copies of my DVDs, so thank you all for your help.. However I came across a delima while encoding Monsters Inc.
I want to add the two bonus tracks to a Mini-DVD, and i've isolated the VOB files where the movies reside... however all the guides have ways of encoding to MPEG-2 first, then creating the DVD. Is there anyway I can just create a DVD from just the VOB files? (I'm using Scenarist...kinda.. and DVDit!) So far whenever i drop in a VOB it reads "invalid media type"

probably the easiest (and best) thing you should do is use dvddecrypter in ifo/stream mode and extract the .m2v and .ac3 files for each of them, which will import into scenarist fine.

Yup, your completly correct.. That works fine.. now my only problem is creating menu's in scenarcist.... the guide that we have to go on only teaches about menu's in reelDVD... now thats not terrible, except for the fact that I can't add both of my movie files into reel DVD w/o error... (one is 16:9, other is 4:3) so maybe i'll be able to jot down an easy guide for others that follow in my path.. no need to reply, I'll browse the forum for that question myself. (unless your burning to answer me of course).

ReelDVD (and DVDVirtuoso) both only compile to 1 VTS, and in compliance with the DVD specs, you can only have 1 aspect ratio in a VTS.

yeah, i had assumed something like that.. its unfortunate that i can use ReelDVD's easy menu for creating a script, otherwise this would be perfect ;-)

im pretty sure that you can save a reeldvd project that can be open in scenarist, and im pretty sure i read it in the sonic reeldvd FAQ.
