CCE Shows transcoding window, but does not encode

Hello, As soon as CCE is done creating a video information file and the transcoding window comes up it just stays there and does nothing. The computer does not crash or freeze, CCE stops resonding and the Encoded_Video_CCE_NTSC.mpv file stops at exactly 8.5 MB (8,912,896MB) in size with no further encoding. Has anyone else had this same issue? I have tried the second mpeg2dec file, I have tried safe mode, and I have tried using cce 2.62 instead of 2.5 (what I usually use), and nothing. Below is also my DVD2SVCD log. I have also tried without using DVD2SVCD, but this also did not work. I know at least someone is going to flame me telling me to search through the forums "because this has been covered". Well, No, I have searched and if it is covered I did not see it after looking for an hour. To anyone who thinks they can help. Thank You! -Rob

ok first things first, it looks like you've edited your post wondering where the attachment is?, if you dont realise, they have to be validated by a forum mod, or an admin.

now, about your problem; i notice that your using CCE 2.50 or 2.62 and you are runing Windows XP. the first offical version of CCE that supports XP is 2.66, whether older versions run on XP is really up to luck or fate.

i didnt see you mention your hardware config, so if you are overclocking ANYTHING, then please set it back to default, or slower (expecially memory timings).

the only other thing i can suggest is to take avisynth out of the loop by using vfapi or by creating a (huge) avi and putting that into CCE (you seem to have 17GB free, probably wont fit a whole movie in that space).

Yeah, I agree - unfortunately that won't be enough, even with a DV codec (approx 1:5), let alone with Huffy (which makes EEEEENORMOUS files!). I'd go with your suggestion to use VFAPI, which, as we've all discussed in the past, has it's downsides, but nevertheless, I find it still yields very acceptable results.

You'll find if you are using a trial version that when the built in timebomb activates you can no longer encode - the screen does excatly what you show when the timebomb has activated.

Thank you for the reply, but for all who are interested in this subject. I found out the the problem was the size I was trying to get the file did not seem to agree with the bitrate. When I went in and manually changed the bitrate I was using in CCE, it transcoded just fine.

This is more for the VCD%SVCD>CCE forum, or if someone insisted it was for DVD (DVD2SVCD has SVCD in the NAME for christsakes!) then at least in the encoding forum! How in the world could this have anything to do with Advanced Authoring??!
