How do you split your 2 CD DivX ?

Hi.

I was wondering how most people here prefer to split their DivX movie when they are supposed to burn it on two CD-Rs ?

Do you split the first part and then start the second part right where you left or do you prefer to include the last few seconds of the 1st part into the beginning of the 2nd part so as not to lose track of the plot ?

Im the only one so far who cuts a few seconds behind! I do this because I don't like the sudden jerk that comes with switching 2 files. It always seems like a part was cut off. So I always rewind to just 1 keyframe and play from there. Call me weird but I like doing it that way.

Note that I have 2 CD drives so I don't have to switch my cd's durring the middle of the movie.

When (!) I do a 2-CD rip (this is quite rare :D), I split on a complete scene change, that means, I cut where a completely new scene comes. So no need for me to include any seconds from the 1st CD.

I always make a clean split, no extra seconds included. I always watch my videos from my HD, so I copy them, merge them together with NanDub (all my 2-CD's are AVI, because they all have AC3 audio). Now, if I had the extra couple of seconds on the 2nd part it would look jerky, so that's why I don't.

I dont like the idea of editing all my movies again when i get a dvd-r drive. :D

I always cut on a scene change so I can mux them back into 1 file when i watch them. i have the file change, it f***s up the movie. plus if people are watching it with you, they're always like "what the hell?" and i get the pleasure of explaining about how lazy I am to not put the two files back together.

exactly! I've started writing my 2cd divx-movies to dvd+r (3 on a disc) as it is cheaper than 6 cd's. I really hate finding the exact place where to cut the 2nd avi in order to get the original stream (1400 MB). People should stop leaving the extra frames, that's my policy!

All in all i'm glad not having to switch avi's halfway through movies anymore!

...Acaila-stylish :) No overlap, but I never merge the files. I use Zoom Player's Playlist instead.
