Hi everybody.
I need a little help with Maestro authoring. I ripped Carlito's Way.
Then used REMPEG2 to shrink it.
Movie is 2.35:1. IFO info says it's 4:3. DVD2AVI says 4:3.
Movie plays in letterbox 2.35:1
Question is:

When authoring in Maestro, what aspect ratio to use:
4:3
16:9PS
16:9 Letterbox
16:9 LB/PS

P.S. IMDB info on this disk is:
2.35:1 Letterbox/Pan and Scan(is it possible?)

Thanks.

It all depends if it's anamorphic or not.I suspect it is non-anamorphic and it's mastered in 4:3(are you sure you're looking at the movie and not the menu details in ifoedit?).If it's 4:3 that is your setting in Maestro.A non-anamorphic title can be any aspect-ratio up to 1:33/1 and will use the 4:3 setting.Again,aspect-ratio doesn't matter,anamorphic(16:9) do.

I have a question ? why using Maestro when Ifoedit can do easily the remuxing !??

Anyway, I don't know if it is the correct method, but usually I use BitrateViewer to figure out if the movie is 4:3 or 16:9.....in the latter case, I will select 16:9 letterbox in Maestro. So far, I have never got any issues.
