I am trying to back up a film with this structure:

Chapter assignment information for DVDMaestro Playlists:
- Playlist #2 (PGC #2); [VOB Sector: 0]
- 00:00:00:00
- 00:06:04:03
- 00:11:09:12
- 00:15:37:03
- 00:19:25:09
- 00:23:27:09
- 00:30:59:13
- 00:34:36:19
- 00:38:40:21
- 00:42:22:17
- 00:48:37:24
- 00:58:58:10
- 01:05:09:18
- 01:12:23:08
- 01:20:04:18
- Playlist #1 (PGC #1); [VOB Sector: 2550629]
- 01:25:33:13
Any unlisted PGCs have been determined to be nulls (dummys)
and will remain intact in the original file.

Now I haven't created playlists in Maestro before, so bear with me. If a create a playlist when all the chapters are in, the playlist automatically contains all of the chapters and you can't edit them, is that right? Now with playlist #1, the chapter point is actually the last frame in the film. If i try and put a chapter here, Maestro says that it isn't long enough or a valid chapter length or something.

I've created an m2v from smartripper for PGC1, but it is only 00:00:00:48 seconds!! This obviously won't change the length enough.

Can anybody tell me step by step what I have to do here? When I try to use IFOUpdate, it says something about the PGC table being too small or something.

Thanks!

1. Import all the chapters into Maestro.
2. If the last chapter point was rejected on import because it was too close to the end, just put it a few frames farther back -- each frame is 1/30 or 1/25th of a second, so it isn't a big deal.
3. In Maestro right click on the Movie item. Then choose "Create Playlist." Double click on the playlist.
4. Drag the appropriate chapters from the complete movie list to the Playlist (#1). In your example that would be only one chapter, the Chapter at 01:25:33:13.
5. Push the "New Playlist" button and add the appropriate chapters for the other playlist(s) -- in your case that would be all the other chapters.

As a result you would have 3 PGCs -- the big one with all the chapters in it, Playlist 1, and Playlist 2. After compiling, use the IFOupdate Maestro mode to update the original IFO and the big PGC will go away. That leaves you with an appropriate dup..
