I'm encoding a DVD that I own (Bound), I run all the gordian knott steps for DivX5, and its worked wonderfully in the past.
With this movie, the audio is detected with a -66ms delay. However, when it's done encoding, the audio is over 4 seconds ahead of the video. Other than that, all is great (quality wise). How can I re-align the audio?
Can I do this with out re encoding the WHOLE movie agina? (as in do the audio, credits, and 2 passes for the movie?)

any ideas?
I follow the divx5 tutorial here to encode all my DVDs with DivX 5 Pro.

Thanks!!!

Hi-

Sometimes, bad asynch of the kind you describe can be traced to the original decrypting. That is, if you ripped using SmartRipper in File Mode instead of Movie Mode you can get those kinds of problems.

And yes, it can be fixed without reencoding the video. In Doom9's Virtual Dub Procedures Guide (http://www.doom9.org/virtualdub_procedures.htm) there's a section on resynching the audio. But be sure to use Nandub instead of VDub for this. It's easy enough to fix, but may take 3 or 4 tries to get it right.
