hi. i'm looking for anyone who knows any links or anything to any divx players. i've seen a few but they're not out yet.

i'm not talkingabout software, i'm talking about a standalone unit, which when connected to a tv will play divx.

anyone know of any sites that either tells you how to make them or sell them??

these mpeg4 players are not out yet... even if they are, you have do be carefull because they do not play all divx files... afaik they only play divx4 and divx5 files... so no support for good ole divx3 i also don't know if they can play xvid!

if you want to build it yourself you'll almost need a full computer...just take a older machine... (at least a P2 400 or equal) and see that it has a decent soundcard, cd rom, and tv out as well as some rams... do a install of windows/linux... install the divx codec.,.. there you go... you'lll just need a mouse connected (at least if you have windows installed!)
ok... well but i don't think there's an easy way to build your own divx standalone without having to boot up!

just IMHO

The only Official stand alone Divx player so far is I believe the KISS technology one. I think they have info on it on www.divx.com.

I had a great guide for creating your own "budget" Home Theatre PC, but can't find it right now, I think it is linked at work.
Check this out though, good read, I wish I had the time/money to do it too: http://www.modthebox.com/atc600.html
