View Full Version : Video lags behind audio (Sorry, posted in advance topics on accident)

Hi,

I've been searching through the archives for the past several days for my question and I haven't been able to find anything that could solve my problem. I'd like to first excuse myself for any newbie questions I will bring up in this post.

The problem I have is that the video lags way behind the audio. It gets the point where the video stays on a particular frame for about 5 seconds before moving onto the next frame while the audio continues on. There are two DVDs that I have experimented this program with. One is Ali and another is a 39 minute movie trailer DVD. In both cases, the first muxed MPG file had this problem. In Ali, the second muxed MPG file seemed perfectly fine (except for when I try to fast forward to view from the middle of the file, the problem occurs again) but starting from the beginning, the muxed file seems ok. Now there are couple of things that I find is intersting. When I view any of the VOB files, the video and audio is in slow motion. It seems like the VOB is going half the speed of the normal video. When I view the encoded CCE file, the video itself is perfectly fine. I searched through the archives and found this post which talks about the best settings. I tried to copy as much as possible what the people said to do here.

In any case, here is my log file. If any could please help me in any way (even to tell me a particular option I should/should not use) would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Ben

To me that sound like a problem of your player. Did you try the disk on another standalone-player?

I agree sounds like a player problem or possbly a burning problem.
Try burning the disc again, but this time burn at the slowest speed your burner will do or 4X whichever is greater.

Also try to play the disc in your computer using PowerDVD or WinDVD and see if it happens there.

One other thing to try. On the audio tab if you have 48->44.1 checked uncheck it and vice versa. Some players don't like 48 audio and some have problems with 44.1 audio.

Your Bitrates are wierd. What is with the 755 Min setting?
Try the default 300. Also at 1200 Avg I know I wouldn't like the quality of the video. I would add another disc to raise the bitrate over at least 1500.

This problem occurs both in my computer, before I even burn the cue/bin files. When I use windows media player to view the muxed MPG file, this problem occurs and the same problem is there after I burn and view in the player.

I will try setting different bitrates for next time. Is there anything else that could solve this problem?

Thanks,
Ben

I will look closer at your problem later when I have more time, but as has been said many, many times before DO NOT use Media Player to test these videos. It is very unreliable. Only use PowerDVD or WinDVD.
