I've just put my new Radeon 9000 Pro (the 64 MB version from Sapphire) into my PC and the CPU usage for DivX playback seems to have dropped massively (about 20% CPU usage to playback a 640x256 DivX 5 encoded video with B-frames and GMC, about 800 kbit/s). I'm using ffdshow with postprocessing turned up to full and mplayer2.
CPU usage for type of clip would usually be about 50-60%. Does this mean the Radeon is handling (some of) the DivX playback? This was an advertised feature for the radeon, but I didn't think it had been implemented yet. What are other people's experiences with the 9000 Pro?
My system is a 1 GHz Athlon with 256 DDR RAM.
