I know this has been discussed before, but it seems there isn't a definitive answer on this.

I am attempting to split The Sopranos DVD's, keeping all the menus, extra features, etc.

There are 2 problems I have run into (this is on Season 3 specifically). If I attempt to split using the "Split to 2 dvd-r's" check box, everything ends up in the "disc 1" directory, and it is far too large. If I attempt to do it manually, by stripping vob's, the first disc is fine. As soon as I attempt to strip the vob's for the second disc (i.e. leave out vob id 1) IFOEdit reports an error. "VOB cotains no NAV UNITS" The only way I can correct this error is to select VOB ID1, but then it won't fit on 1 disc.

I have attempted to follow guides posted on this forum and on doom9. Is there something I am missing, or can it even be done?

Just as an update I did some more experimenting and got it to work, somewhat.

It plays fine in the IFOEDIT player and PowerDVD. But Primo won't burn it, and if I force it to burn, my stand alone plays the intro, but craps out before getting to the menu.

Any ideas?

The error message about "VOB cotains no NAV UNITS" is a bug in version 0.94 of IfoEdit. It's supposed to be fixed in the next version. For now, you'll need to use an older version of IfoEdit.

Thanks, that solves my first problem...but...onto my second problem.

I am figuring there must be somethign I am overlooking, as the IFO player *seems* to play it (it crashes a lot). I know it isn't just my stand alone, as PrimoDVD will ensure the DVD is up to snuff before it burns it, and it gives me an error.

I wonder if I should try an older version first?
