problems when importing media assets with dvd maestro

i am trying to import an ac3 audio file and a demuxed.m2v file for some strange reason it will not let me import the m2v file (video) it keeps saying media not suported error can any body help ive been at this for days now cheers

Are you sure that the .m2v follows dvd specs (resolution etc)?

u can't import NTSC at 23.976fps. U have to use pulldown.exe and set the pulldown flag

This might also be attributable to the old Win2k-incompatibility issue, if you are using an older build of Maestro (e.g 2199a). Just a possibility. (you didn't mention what framerate your .m2v is, and you didn't say what your O.S. is, or the build of Maestro you are using).

i am using windows xp home and the frame rate of my movie is 23.9 but ive also done a pal movie 25 fps and that wont be accepted into the dvd maestro still keep getting the same error message have i gone wrong somewhere with the settings in rempeg totally baffled at moment i have started to go sraight into spruce up now with my m2v video file but i am looking at an easier way to import my chapters back in any help would be very grateful

Hmmm.. very strange that SpruceUp accepts the files, but Maestro doesn't. This makes me continue to be suspicious. What build of Maestro are you using, and what software decoder do you have installed for Maestro (e.g. Cinemaster 2000 etc), if any? Are you using XP's emulation option for earlier OS's?

oops! I'm just re-reading over this thread and I've realised I misread your original query. You said media not supported, whereas I was misreading it as "media detection error". This sounds more like an issue with the assets than with Maestro. If you used Smartripper to rip and demux your assets, then try doing the same with DVD decryptor instead, and get back to me with your findings.

I have the same problem,

When Importing the m2v ( Monsters Inc PAL ) ripped with DVD Decriptor to Maestro 2.9.xxxx ( using Win Xp ) it only loads 12 seconds of video and it says it's okay. The strange thing is that when importing using Scenarist it goes okay!! Even plays using Power DVD.

Anyone knows why?

I'm going to extract the m2v with Smartripper and see what goes on ;)

PS: I have cinemaster 2000 plug in installed ( is there any problem with it )?

Hello again

I tried to load the same m2v file to Maestro ( but this time using Smart Riper ) and the same result ;( , after 12 seconds it stops importing and says it's okay, but it isn't :(

Funny thing is that with scenarist everything is okay !

Now I'm re-encoding the m2v ( using CCE 2.66 ) and I will try to load the result into Maestro again !

BTW After re-encoding with CCE the file is correctely loaded ( on Maestro )!
