Is Qpel safe for movie archiving already?

Hi, if I encode my videos with Qpel now, will it still be decode-able in the future? I find that the results are slightly more detailed with the Qpel build (compared to the stable one).

Well... I would assume that since it isn't in the stable build yet, they aren't considering it to be quite stable yet.

They're working quite nice but unlikely to be standards compliant (we're still investigating). Since ffmpeg (and thus the next ffdshow release) will have proper playback support, it's quite safe to use and have a (everywhere) playable file afterwards.
