i have two questions. how would i go about changing an icon on an exe file? like if i wanted to change my irc.exe icon to the kazaa icon...second of how do i hide a program so that it starts up when windows starts but it doesnt show in my tray?

First of all close your browser , then find a big stick dab some salt on the end , VOGUE and then press it real hard in to your eye! Then after you VOGUE again ask your self why you want to do this ...i mean really?

But seriously you want to get your self over to neworder.box.sk. :D i think you will find a binder that might me able to change an icon of a file , but the easy way is to make your own program!
just because this site maybe considered controversial doesn't mean we are all in to hacking :D not saying you thought that ;)

this has nothing to do with hacking. i just wanna change the icon. its not like im gonna change it and sell the damn thing. i just dont want my family to see an icon that is in the tray and i want them to think its something its not so i can run it on my computer and they wont close the damn thing

search for a program called isicon. it was made for changing the icon in inno-setup creted installer exes. probably the simplest you will find.

one more problem....the prog im trying to hide is an ftp server...anyweay that icon changing program worked perfect until someone logged onto the ftp and the little icon went back to the normal blue serv u icon. i would use another ftp server but serv u works best for me for sum reason. anyway is there a way to make it so the icon doesnt change ever?

if the file has an extension .exe and its on a ftp, the ftp client will display the standard application icon for it. the ftp client would have to download the whole file for it to display the icon your going to hide in it.

im not talking about downloading a file from the ftp....im talking about the server in itself. the SERV U program...when no one is logged onto your ftp its a normal green U...and when some one logs on it becomes a blue U. i need to know how to make it so that the icon never changes. because i figured out how to change the normal green U into an antivirus icon but when someone logs onto the ftp it goes to the Blue U. I need to keep the virus icon all the time

if it is just a case of hiding the icon from your family, why not tell um a porky? tell them that when the anti virus software turns in to a blue U it means its updating? just a thought?

just get microangelo, i think it will let you edit icons out of PE's

take the wonderful icon program (I gave u the link in your hiding program thread), hide SERV U with it, change the icon of wonderful icon program with your favorite reshack proggy, and voilą !
