I'm trying to make a vob using the same mpg2 file for two PGCs (same VTS same Title).
but one PGC needs to be with sound and subs and the other PGC needs to be only the mpg2 file.
I can duplicate the mpg2 file on two tracks but then it will take double the place (MB), and I know there's an option where you can use same track but for one PGC the sound and subs will work, and for the other PGC it won't.
How do I make it? PLEASE HELP!
(I hope I phrased the question good)

not sure in scenarist where it is, but you need to use the prohibited user actions and disable those streams from the 2nd PGC

I don't believe you can disable the streams with P-UOPs. All you can do with that feature is disable the switching to a different stream.
To play with a UOP, click on a scene of the video. In the bottom center window (property browser) double click on UOP and you'll be taken to a properties page where you can enable/disable many different UOPs.
The only UOPs I see there that are audio related are Menu_Call(Audio) and Audio_Stream_Change(). Same with subs. Both are permissions and can be permitted/prohibited, neither of which are sufficient enough to help you accomplish your entire task, I believe. Though you should prohibit these UOPs to make it to where once you have accomplished your task, the user cannot turn the sound/subs on or change it.
Now onto changing your starting audio/subs. Go to the scenario editor where you have the PGC that you want to have no audio and no subs. Double click on the PRE tab to the left of the PGC. Uncheck "no command" and then click the drop down box next to "command" and select "Set Angle/Audio/Subpicture". Set both your Audio and Subpicture to a non existent track (I'd choose 9).
That may do it. I've never tried this yet but I fail to see why it wouldn't work, unless DVD playback defaults to the first available audio/sub streams if you set it to a non-existent one. If this does happen to be the case, I suggest creating a dummy audio and sub stream and then configuring the PRE command to play those dummy streams you added.

HEY!
I got it.
I don't need to do it thru Scenarist, Just do it thru IfoEdit.
after I multiplex my vob I open the Ifo thru IfoEdit, and go into
VTS_PGCITI, there I pick the PGC I don't want audio and subs and in the sub I don't want and in the Audio I don't want I just click and put a 0 instaed of the original number that cancels the audio stream (or sub) that I choose, in this PGC.
right?

Yes, that way should also work, I just wasn't sure how good you were with ifoedit and didn't want to explain how to do that to someone with no idea haha

Well, I'm new to this forum but not to the whole authoring shit.
by the way, did you ever cracked on how to do the rabbit on matrix?
because thats what I'm working on right now and I think I can do it.

No I never figured out a way to do it without reauthoring the menus. I'm not sure about the Matrix, I was working on making it work with Dogma.
Dogma has a feature called 'follow the buddy jesus'. It uses forced subs as triggers, just like Matrix, to jump to pgcs in different VTSes. Far as I could figure, the only way to jump to another VTS is to have a dummy PGC in the VIDEO_TS.IFO, which would require reauthoring the entire menu. DVD Specs don't allow jumps to another VTS from anywhere but the Video Manager, and I couldn't find a way to bypass this limitation.
Is Matrix the same? I'm unsure if in Matrix clicking on the rabbit jumps to somewhere in the same VTS or to a a different VTS. If so, please post any finding you discover, as I'd love to learn how to do this.

Good catch Auenf! Maestro's menu is so non-descript as to what flags they really set, I wonder what PUOP they actually change when you click on that? Scenarist just gives you the exact choices and inner workings of the DVD code. One of these days I'll have to play with Maestro (again) and figure out what PUOP they actually change when you check one of those.

btw, both The Matrix and Mulan Rouge use disabled subtitle streams (for White Rabbit/Green Fairy) and im pretty sure they were both authored in a version of Scenarist, altho how, i have nfi ;)
