My budd just bought a Mitsu 48" 16x9 projection.
We were wondering how the picture would be on there and if there would be any aspect problems compared to the original DVD.
I am sure you will say just try it, but wondered if anyone has experience with it?

I don't have personal experience, but I'll tell you now you're not going to want to skimp on bitrate or # of passes. Do at least 3 passes. I think you'll like the result :)

Do some tests with CDRW discs and just a chapter or two.
I think you will end up wanting to encode all your 16:9 DVD's as 4:3 Do not Add borders. Most here with widescreen TV's seem to do it this way.
One thing to remember is that on larger TV's and especially those that are Hi-Def you will be able to see faults in the video easier. So try and keep your bitrate up.

Also if the case is where you see to much noise and wanna try some more tests you could try doing a "ivtc" which is alot slower, but might help gets you the results u want with such a setup.
