did you try to play back your -vfapi.avi wrapper in media player prior to encoding? sometimes when you forget to install the codec vfapi creates a garbahe .avi file which can cause the problem you're describing. also, post your cce settings, version, etc. as much info as you can gather on the source file/d2v project.

I've had CCE lock up on me if I try to run a multipass (2 or more passes) without having run the required one-pass that generates the information needed for CCE to encode during the multipass sessions.

Have you tried to search before posting this thread? This is quite common problems with CCE. This (http://forum.doom9.org/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=389648&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending) is the result from searching in this forum. Try to read q5 from CCE FAQ (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16976) first. If it's unlikely, go and read by clicking on the result I put above.

Good luck :)

Shasa, just click the search button. Enter the words "cce", "freeze", "hangs", etc. You'll find plenty of tips on why CCE crashes and what workarounds there are.

thanks Swan, found out what was, went to check with bitrate viewer the *.vob, and the quantscale wasn't linear, while in my settings

dvd2svcd->Encoder->AdvancedSettings->LinearQuantizerScale

was checked, once unchcked that, everything worked, thanks again for the reply ;)
