shadowy dvdr

I've ripped a dvd and reduced file size but the motion is shadowy in some parts if say a hand moves it's like 5 hands moving with it slow motion almost anyone got any ideas.Thanks for taking the time to look in.Sound perfect etc but just certain parta are shadowy

PAL or NTSC? Sometimes having the wrong setting for Top Frame First can cause something similar. You can use PULLDOWN.EXE to change the flag.

Another possibility is that you've taken a FILM source and encoded it as 29.97 NTSC. Often it causes something similar in "panning" scenes because of the interlacing.

Sorry, that's all I can come up with.

Jdobbs thanks for that will try the changing flag,it's pal,4:3 ratio but I think your right about the flag will try that as I haven't a clue what it could be,thanks again m8,much appreciated.

I have checked through bitrate viewer again it says
constrained param.flag:NO
does that mean anything?
