I have done a few succesfull conversions, but on my latest one, it keeps coming up I/O error 112 a small part of the way into ripping the 1st vob. file, could this be caused by a scratch on the DVD or can anyone offer another solution?

Could be because it's scratched. Try using the included Vstrip.
If all else fails try SmartRipper, but only as a last resort.

Is the DVD scratched/smudged?

Have you tried vStrip or even (last resort) SmartRipper?

I've never had this error myself, just throwing out ideas :)

Edit: OMG! Mark, we just posted nearly the EXACT same thing, and at the exact same time... woah...

Thanks,

DVD plays OK in powerDVD but I will give it another clean & try Vstrip & let you know.

@Machura: Microsoft's Knowledge Base has a pretty lengthy list of most Windows error codes, but the descriptions are very vague to all but the most advanced users, since the list is huge, and having detailed information on each error would take a long long time ;)

As you can see in you log, you only got 655MB free on your HDD. Thats far to less for ripping.

Starwars i would atleast have 15 gigs free if not 20gb even tho most the time you dont need that much, its better to be safe:D

Not sure what the problem was, but I don't think it was a lack of space (not at that stage anyway) because I had already ripped the vobs to the HD, I gave the DVD another clean and it started working OK, but I cleaned out about 17 Gigs of space while I was waiting for the CCE conversion to finish or there wouldn't have been enough space to create the CD image file and all is working fine now.

Thanks for all the help.:D

Did you guys deduce that this is due to the HD space?

I am getting the same error too :(
