Anyone know/have experience with this drive (TOSHIBA DVD-R Recorder SD-R5002), as I'm looking at buying a few of them but need some questions anwsered first.

1) Is it compatible with Primo DVD?

2) What is the quality like of the resulting DVD-R discs?

3) Are there any compatiblity problems with this device?

4) Can it write to CDR in RAW mode?

Thanks. .Gooki

According to the spec below, it only writes DVD-R at 2x.
A 4x writer would be a better choice, IMO.

I own this one. It rips at 6-7. It burns at 2x pretty much. it works w/ nero, and vob instant cd/dvd. Im having many many problems burning DVDs, cos my PC keeps crashing when i burn. i think its windows, but you never know. . .

Thanks for the replies.

I'm not realy concerned about write speed as the cost of 4x media is going to be much higher than 1x media.

davepyne are you able to give primodvd a go to see if it detects your writer?
