I succesfully backed up the Cowboy Bebop DVD. This DVD contains 5 episodes with each episode being on a different Video Title Set. Here is what the Structure looks like:

VTS_03 contains episode 1
VTS_04 contains episode 2
VTS_11 contains episode 3
VTS_12 contains episode 4
VTS_13 contains episode 5

After many trials, I was finally able to back up the DVD by doing the following:

-Ripp the entire DVD to harddrive with DVD Decryptor
-I then moved just the VOB files for episodes 1-3 to a seperate folder.
-Use VobEdit to join the VOB files Link To Guide (http://mpucoder.kewlhair.com/derrow/joinclip.html)
-Run IfoEdit and click "Create IFOs". When it asks for the VOB file, select the First VOB file. This creates the IFO files for all the VOBs.
-Use IfoEdit to open the newly created IFO files and hit "Get VTS Sectors"
-Use IfoEdit to open the IFO file and then click VOB Extras. Pretend like you are going to strip something, except don't strip anything. (This step was necessary, otherwise the DVD would not fast forward/rewind correctly in my DVD Player)
-Use IfoEdit to open the newly created IFO files and hit "Get VTS Sectors"
-You are now ready to burn the files. I used Nero.
-Now just repeat the above steps for Episodes 4-5.
-I don't know how to correct the language names and the subtitle color, I'm still trying to figure that part out. They have to be corrected since the IFO files were created from scratch. If you don't correct them, the languages still work, the only thing is that when selected, it just says "other" instead of "japanese" or "english". The subtitles appear in wierd colors. There is a guide on the IfoEdit homepage on correcting this, I'm just having a hard time following it.

Does anyone know of an easier method then the above? I tried several other ways but none seemed to work. Maybe I just did something wrong in my previous attempts? For example:

-I tried using the "Split To 2 DVDRs" option in IfoEdit. Unfortunately, it seems that IfoEdit only splits one Video Title set, ignoring all the other Video Title Sets. In this case, it means that it just cut one episode in half and the other episodes are not included on the split DVD.

-I stripped out each episode using IfoEdit. I then took 3 of the stripped episodes and moved them to the same directory. I left each episode in seperate Video Title Sets. I burned the files to DVD. When I played the DVD, the DVD player only sees the first Video Title Set. It plays the first episode fine, but then stops when the first episode finishes. I can't select the other episodes that are in other Video Title Sets. I think it's because the VIDEO_TS file still says that there is only one VTS? I'm not sure how I would change it.

I hope my guide helps people out. I searched these forums for a few days trying to find old posts dealing with DVD's like these, but was unable to. Finally, if someone can tell me a better way to backup these types of DVD's, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you and Enjoy!
