Hi folks,

Yesterday night, I was thinking about how to make a VCD where "you're the hero", so where you would watch video sequences and choose what you do by pressing the number buttons.

This reminded me of a thread here on this forum where someone aksed how to reuse the same video sequence and have different endings. He had 3 episodes of a manga serie on a VCD + the serie "song" (don't know the word in English), I mean what you see before each episode. He wanted this :

Read song + episode 1 + song (again) + episode 2 + song (again) + episode 3

So he'd need something like a variable to know where he "came from" when reading the song to know which episode he must jump to after reading the song. He's been told it was impossible. Well I think it's not, I found a way how to do this :

1. With VCDEasy, define 3 entry points in the song vid as close as possible in the beginning (so chapter 1 at 0s, chapter 2 at 0.5s and chapter 3 at 1s).

2. For each entry point, change the item that is played when it's finished
Chapter 1 -> play episode 1
Chapter 2 -> play episode 2
Chapter 3 -> play episode 3

3. Define also what to play after each episode :
Episode 1 -> song chapter 2
Episode 2 -> song chapter 3
Episode 3 -> end

It's done. You'll see the song (missing 0.5s the 2d time and 1s the third time) and each episode with the song again between them, without having to waste space by burning the song 3 time on the VCD.

I tested this idea today, it works perfectly.

That's all ! Thanks for reading :)
