For days I've been reading post abut people having problems
with this.

All you have to do is RIPP as one big
file an other words.

VTS_01_1.VOB=1GB
VTS_01_2.VOB=1GB
VTS_01_3.VOB=1GB
VTS_01_4.VOB=1GB
VTS_01_5.VOB=1GB

will be one big file.................................!

VTS_01_1.VOB=5GB

Windows XP has on problem with this.................! & NTFS file system...!

TMPG & ReMpeg2 will both open the .VOB

the very reason for the project file is being able to NOT use a direct show reader but DVD2AVI or AviSynth/mpeg2source.
For this it doesn't matter how big the files are.

But you are right, with NTFS they can be bigger than 4GB.

@crow
The d2v file is still needed if you want to use CCE which provides higher quality of SVCD result (TMPG is suitable for VCD and I heard that ReMPEG gives very good result as well but I have no comment because I've never used it). Another reason is there're still many people using FAT32 partition which doesn't allow file higher than its limit (not sure whether it's 2 or 4GB).

The limit in FAT32 is 4G :)
