Tried to update the bios to 1014 today on my a7v333, but after reboot the system just beeps at me.

The cd-roms and floppy lights blink which leads me to believe that its possible to recover.

But, I unfortinatly do not know the correct procedure to do so.

Anyone know what I need to do to save this board ?

I had the post speech telling me "to repair/replace the bios", couldn't tell, pc speakers arn't good for speech, so im guessing the mobo is still recoverable.

Hello

I don't want to be a source of negativity or a nuissance, but there are two ways to repair a mobo after a bad bios flash, one is creating a backup of the bios to be flashed and if something goes wrong, you use the backup and follow the instructions given in the technical documentation of the manufacturer, one example is the "Procedure for Recovering a Corrupt Bios Chip" written by David Oakly, Amptron International Inc, I am sure there are other documents explaining the procedure, but the one above is the best one I have been able to find, of course, this depends of the type of bios you have, Award, Ami?

The second option is to purchase a new CMOS Chip, which costs aproximately the same of a new mobo.

Sorry, but I think that's all I can recommend.

3rd way (for those without fear):
-go to a friend with a working pc
-start this pc into dos
-take the bios chip out of the running pc
-put in your bios chip
-flash your bios file to the chip
-replace the bios chips
-finish !

maybe you need the flash utility form your board or from your friends board. or use the utility from gigabyte, it does not do any checks.
maybe this work, or maybe you destroy the pc of your friend...

(it had worked for me)
