where windows hides the History list ?

I would like to erase the traces left when consulting a web site.
I have cleaned up the cache the history but on my w98se (and other windows) there is a special zone : the last manually-entered URLs are available in the scrolling Address pane of Internet Explorer 6 (and previous v.)
How could I erase only one element of this scrolling history, leaving the others (just as if nobody came on the keyboard at midtime).Where are those dammned strings ? Not in the registry, but where ?

im pretty sure the autocomplete is in the registry, possibly called something like MRU list, should be able to find it by searching registry for one of the URL's

Thank you ! Its in the registry at TypedURLs somewhere under HKEY_C URRENT_USER under windows 98!

Don't forget Sherlock that the registry is saved periodically un c:\windows\sysbackup\*.cab and could be restored with scanreg /restore
