The chapters are not working on my Pioneer.

I have tried to make SVCD 2 times from the same film but with no luck.
The chapters are not working. I cannot choose NEXT or PREV on my Pioneer 530. I have tried to use both the "PBC Use Selections" and the "PBC Use Playlist". Anyone know how come this will not work?

a couple questions...also, you should post your logfile, this would help us out.

1) does the dvd have chapters to begin with? if not then you can add a chapter every XX seconds where XX is your choice.

2) look at your .cue file. If there is more than one entry then it would seem that there is multiple chapters...if you're still not sure then...

3) if you can skip chapters in windvd or powerdvd then your problem is that you're burning the disc wrong or your dvd player doesn't support svcd chapters which i have never heard of. So you should burn the bin/cue files using the foolproof method mentioned in the faq.

I would like to use the same chapters as on the original-DVD that´s why I do not use "chapter every XX seconds".

When I load up Nero I have to choose Track-at-Once otherwise the burn will fail. "It" will not even bother to start the the burning.
Maybe this is where it all went wrong. Is it some sort of difference using disc-at-once and track-at-once.

svcds should be burned "disc at once".

Another point: If you rip with smartripper, then you didn't follow the rules. And guess what - chapters won't work as I had to find out myself the hard way.
(Not that I didn't read the manual - but there were some things already on my HD when I stumbled upon DVD2svcd)

For those nonconform rips, you can try VCDeasy & Chapterextractor. Helped me in transit, but I don't need them any more, cause the internal routines work flawless for me.

Granted it might show track at once, but it's doubtful that this guide was made specifically for the files DVD2SVCD makes. All the guides are linked to each other, but most are stand alone.

I doubt you meant captors not working so I will edit the title to say chapters not working if you don't mind. It confused me when I first looked at it and I am sure others as well. It looks to much like capture.

I just noticed that nowhere have you mentioned if you are burning the Cue/Bin files or the Mpg file. Which are you burning?
