I'm running win 98 SE. it locks up when burning a DVD. is there a more stable OS for burning? anyone else have the same prob. on WIN 98? I've already tried re-installing windows many times. any help would be greatly appreciated, as I am tired of wasting DVD-R's each time my PC locks up while burning them.
thanx

Could you list your hardware? For software problem, I suggest you:
1. try a clean install of Win98 and drivers
2. turn off autorun
3. install dvd burning software
4. use "test" function before the actual recording or use dvd-rw
if your recorder supports it

you have an unstable PC
its not likely to be win98
set your agp to x1 in the bios
agp x2 is often the cause of lockups
or use winXP it has so much bloatware
that it effectivly runs your pc at 1/2 speed
and the slowness of it can cure some problems
(and add a lot more as its not very good when
used with a cd or dvd writer)
