Hey forum buddies,
I've been using Cinemacraft Encoder 2.5 for my DVD ripping. But I'm not sure whether that is the best version to use. I know DVD2SVCD supports v2.64. Does that have better encoding quality or speed differences?
Many thanks for your help.
Cheers.

a search or reading the faq would have gotten you the same answer...2.5 is the version officially supported by dvd2svcd

Actually 2.64 is not officially supported.
Really only 2.50 (prefered) or 2.62 are.
You should be able to get 2.64 to work, but only the older version as there was a minor release within the 2.64 family and that will not work. I don't know the numbers, but say 2.64.01 will work for some while 2.64.02 will not. Remember these are fake numbers, just an example.
2.50 will be faster and most agree there is no difference in video quality.

May i add that 2.5 for the dvd2svcd user is the best right now, but if you were going to do your dvd backup's by hand the later versions if not the latest version would be a bit better for the advanced user.
