View Full Version : Picture Turns White(Bright) Sometimes, Why?

it seems that when i capture some vhs tapes, it turns bright white sometimes during the movie...from time to time...when watching the tape regularly from the vcr..it has no problem, pictures is fine, when i capture, what causes this? im using s-video to capture. is this a bug? im using gainward gf4 ti 4400 with vivo to capture. here's a sample pic of my problem. thanks in advance.

I have had such a problem with Miro Video DC30. The card worked with cable TV perfectly, but not with some VHS tapes. The problem was gone when i have replaced the card. You can get better results with another VCR. Try to play with tracking also.

Could this be a result of macrovision protection?
I'm not sure but I think makrovision over-emphasizes the luma (=brightness) values from time to time.

Yes, macrovision protection gives such effects. It is necessary to check up, whether there is a protection, first of all. If it is so, then everything is clear.
