Hello, i have a pioneer a04 and a very strange problem. I have a certain type of dvd-r's. Don't know anything about them except that they burn succesfully at 2x when i use the burning program Instant Cd/Dvd. When i burn such a disc with Nero. It shows only 1x. How is this possible. It's proved that 2x works with this type of disc in the other progam and Nero won't just allow me to write at 2x. I just need nero to do the job because with Instant Cd/DVD playback in standalones doesn't work. Please help me,

Thanks a lot!

Hi,
I have noticed this strange behaviour also. It seems that at least in my situation with my Pioneer 104 that Instant CD/DVD is lying and actually only writes the DVD at 1X even though it says 2X. Time it!
1x is about an hour.
With regard to compatiblity nero does not seem to write disks that work in my Xbox. Instant does and is better but Prassi seems to be best of all but does seems to work all of the time. I have read on here that if a write a DVD from an ISO this situation will improve.

Regards...

Thanks for your reply, but Instant CD/DVD does actualy write at 2x.
Burning takes about half an hour. Anybody knows the trick?

I know about this phenomenon, but I don't know how to get around it when using Nero...except using the hacked firmware.

i updated to the lastest official firmware. Can i safely install the hacked firmware and undo the installation when i want?

1.90 -> 1.90 appearently doesn't work. The loader says "latest firmware already installed". Fooling the loader doesn't work somehow for this upgrade.

Downgrade to 1.68 first (=> FAQ) and then install the hacked one as a normal upgrade.
