View Full Version : Chapter Format for DVDMaestro .CHP Files

I noticed what seemed to me at least to be a strange anomaly in DVDMaestro that I'm hoping someone can clarify for me.

When trying to import some chapter information generated by IFOUpdate on an NTSC stream that was true 29.97 interlaced, I got an error that essentially said my frame rate didn't match the tape and aborted... Playing around, I found that if I changed the last colon (the one before the frames) in the .CHP file to a semicolon it seemed to import fine.

Does anyone have any additional information on this? I'd like to include it in IFOUpdate if it wasn't a fluke... (I hope this isn't one of those obvious things I should have known already).

No explanation as to why but worked for me also. Used an m2v file origanally 23.976 fps that I applied 2:3 pulldown and drop_frame -true, and in Meastro if I tried to import a standard .chp file no luck but if the last colon of each chapter point was a semi-colon the import worked.

That is correct.

Using the colon u denote that the time stamp is a non drop frame one
and semicolon when u have the drop frame flag set.

Good to know. Thanks.

p.s. I did search... just searched again and this is the only thread I found that talked about the semicolon in .CHP files...
