I hope this is a suitable forum for this?
I have just got a Philips Q35 player because of its Progressive scan function.
Anyway I was playing around with Mini DVD's the other day and found that it plays them, almost. Waht it does is that the player goes into file mode and plays the VOB files on their own. Thats right, just burn VOB's to a normal CDR/W and the player will play them. No more mucking about with authoring etc. The only problem is that you have to re-encode the video bitrate down as it will stat stuttering if to high. (Small price to pay for this feature). But will play AC3 but not DTS in this mode.
Looks like Philips are being nice to consumers by adding this feature. Actually I think it is part of the MP3 feature, as it identifys them on first scan as MP3's but then correctly identifys them later in file preview.
