I did not find any information on this subject, but if it is mentioned somewhere else, please just point me in the right direction.

Does anyone know the best way to author a DVD with two different types of VOBs. Said another way, I am trying to author a DVD with two different formats of video 4x3 & 16x9 in the same DVD.

I use MAESTRO & IfoEdit as my authoring tools.

Can this be done without forcing one format of video to playback in the other format?

They must be in different title sets. Each title set has only one video attribute for non-menu video (and one for the menu).

I think I found a simple workaround.

I think that by making 2 movies in Maestro it might work. The first movie is in 4x3 and and the second movie is 16x9. Then in the connections section you make the final action of the 4x3 movie be to play the 16x9 movie.

I have not tried this, but I think it might work. I suppose that Maestro will make 2 sets of VOBs and with incorporate the play flow in the IFO files automatically.
