5 -- There's an active link to my website, so that users can download the latest releases.
- Pay attention that i have my ways to test audio streams and find out if BeSweet was involved in their creation process. therefore, i would strongly advise you to simply contact me before using my work.

I say flame them with emails, and if they don't respnd, take legal action. BeSweet is an awesome program and it makes things so much easier in audio transcoding. All the time I see ads for "the easiest way to copy DVDs for only $xx" when it's only a bundle of VirtualDub and DivX Pro. But even they aren't charging anything, it's not polite to use another person's code without their permission.

be cool, i don't think a legal action will be necessery, all the cited software (adb,simpledivx, easyvcd) are all freeware and made for helping people. and they don't use directely "another person's code" but use the besweet software. i think dspguru simply prefer use some clear rules (ask it permission to use his software), and don't wan't take a legal action :)

it's simply my opinion.

I guess I may have over reacted there. :) It's just that it ticks me off when people bundle other software and pass it off as their own, as we've seen in the 321Studios DVD copy app. However, Johny's tool did specify that it did use BeSweet, so maybe it's not such a big deal then. But I do think he should get DSPGuru's permission first. ;)

i believe my terms are more than fair.
i've been working on BeSweet more than a year now, and have put thousands of hours in its development already.
BeSweet have made lot of things possible & also made already-possible tasks into much simpler, faster (&better quality) tasks.


now, look at my terms, don't you find them reasonable ?
put an active link to BeSweet's homepage : i hate to read bugreports of bugs that have already been resolved. that usually happens when users don't know of newer releases of BeSweet and don't upgrade.
include all licensing file in your package : BeSweet author, aka me, is very grateful to the lame developers, azid developer, etc'. including lame_enc.dll in your package without including LameLegal.txt is a total disrespect. same goes to BeSweet's readme.

i have never said your terms was not reasonable, but as far as i am concerned i find the reaction of grif_mcrenolds a bit excessive.
(take a legal action).
i think if you writte the authors to remind them the term for using your tool they will do it , i think they respect your work because besweet is very usefull.but if i am wrong and they deliberately ignore your mail, take a legal action :)

What I meant was, take legal action if they don't respond. So far I don't know if they will or won't. I can just remember when people have taken this commuinty's work and passed it off as their own.

There's the 321Studio's DVD copying system, which they're charging money for, yet it's only SmartRipper and a few encoding apps. Have they given any credit to the original authors? From what I've heard they haven't. And there's also the infamous divxcrawler.com that stole Doom9's guides and entitiled them "The DivxCrawler Guides."

So what I mean is: take legal action if they refuse to cooperate. Thay may or they may not. We don't know yet.

another problem:
besweet.dll is shipped with 4 files. 1 dll, 2 example files and one readme. imho that's the whole package i'd downloaded. do i need to distribute more files ?

any optional plugin (shibatch.dll,lame_enc.dll,hip.dll,etc'..) and its license file.

But, just u wait until you get to 1000 or 500 (then you will be real excited), I remember my first time, not on this forum mind, a school forum type thing. We wern't allowed chat, so we set up this little forum, worked quite well. But we are now allowed chat and everything.

This marks my 175th post on doom9, kinda a number, more definate than something like 163, or 183... Well, not as good as ures but DSP kick us all. Though some guys (think doom is) are at the 3000 mark n' beyond. Quite sad, but cool here:D
