Problems with xvid movies. 2/3 unsolved.

i firstly had that pinky and green blocks problem but it got fixed by faq

btw, aint it kinda odd that my before version of xvid was the one that nimo(build8) installs

anyway there are still two problems left,

1. every xvid movie that i own stack, ive got 1,2 duron. on my 500 p3 they stuck even more.
that is kinda wicked if they really need as much power as .. that.

2. every xvid movie that I own sounds wobble. they play the sounds that you really should hear in them movies but also an additional wobblin.

and yes them sounds do go wild with every xvid movies
many of them also have ac3 sounds, though ive got divx movies with ac3 and they play great

Sorry, you're another one who probably ruined his system by installing the Nimo codec pack.

If you search for 'Nimo' on the forum you'll see that many people have strange problems with it AND that it can't be easily deinstalled.

Before re-installing Windows, try if installing ffdshow (http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow/) and setting it up to play all your files helps. If not, well, perhaps you've just downloaded some very rotten encodings. To be sure, encode something yourself with XviD's default settings and see if this works well - otherwise, hey-ho; reinstalling you go. :rolleyes:

BTW, it is NOT a question of CPU power; XviD works fine with high res on my Celeron 466 and on a friend's PII-400, too.

XviD movies has never sucked on my Celeron 900 ;) (without B-frames and/or QPel). You can also try the latest alpha version of the great ffdshow filter.

As I'd stated before in some other thread too, I've been using Koepi's 04102002-1 build without any problems since the day Koepi released it.

Try ZoomPlayer or mpc.

No xvid movie that I own sounds wobble (either with mp3 or ogg or ac3 ;). (Try ZoomPlayer or mpc again, and check your audio drivers/filters.)

on second thoughts .escobar's problem it really sounds like a bad encoding. Perhaps. escobar should try to extract the sound with VDub for example; if the mp3 still sounds like junk that definitely points to a really, really amateur encoding.

Yes my friend, that's certainly just another possibility, among the already mentioned "many"! ;)
