I've started getting errors (using DivFix) in the full length films that I've downloaded. I never used to have this problem but now that I have is there a way to fix it to save me having to download the films again.

(probably) by loading the corrupted file into Vdub.
the selcet direct stream copy in the audio and the video menu.
after that just save the avi again.
works for me most of the time... sometimes even if divfix fails...

Thanks killingspree, it worked like a charm. If the origingal is OK Why would errors creep in the file in the first place when downloading? If I know why then I can prevent it.

it's a general problem, because you're downloading from several sources and also don't download in 'one piece' so there's always a possibility that there are some little errors in the file... you could only prevent it by downloading the file at once from a single user.
and this would be almost impossible with larger files if you use kazaa or any other filesharing client

Yeah, I thought the problem might be when I resume downloads using FTP (I never use any p2p program like Kazaa!). I have set the resume to rollback the files by a few k to see if that helps. Thanks again
