have you tried opening your divx file in virtural dub? it's usually good about detecting errors.

virtual dub shows no errors. any other solutions?`

wait im a little confused now that i look at your logfile more closely...it looks like your audio was encoded...do you have any .mpa or .mp2 files in your ripping directory?

I've had this problem before. For some reason, sometimes the avi's audio doesn't get fully extracted. Like there's a hiccup somewhere when extracting and it get's like 1-2 seconds before it says finished. Just do what I did to correct this. Rip the *entire* audio to wav using virtualdub and remux the wav file to the avi and just open it in avi2svcd. Should work from there.

@hoozdapimp

No. as i said before the file is 0 kb and therefore empty.

But i found a "Encoded_audio_1.log" file in this directory.

Install DivX;-} 3.11 codec (which has an audio codec component) and you will be fine.
You can check to see if you have this installed under (win2k & WinXP) the Control Panel\Sounds and Audio Devices\Hardware\Audio Codecs\Properties\

You might want to look into BeSplit.
In some cases like this DspGuru recomended using it to try and fix the file.
Do a search on BeSplit in the DVD2SVCD forums and look for post by DspGuru.

I have no idea whether this will help or not since I don't do AVI conversion. I just am remembering old issues that were resolved.

You got me, I've never had a problem extracting to wav with virtualdub. Maybe there is something wrong with your avi (corruption within the file). Did you set the audio to full processing mode and set the audio codec to Uncompressed?

Yes i did. IMHO you are right with that there is something wrong with the avi-file. But it works fine in any player i use. sound and picture is quite good.

Hey, i found a nearly similar problem but with ac3 sound. Dspguru advised to use besplit to fix the steam there.

(btw: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24377)

is this also a solution in my case?

But i didn't understand that:

fix your stream using the following command :

code: BeSplit -core( -input D:\Temp\Extracted_audio_1.ac3 -prefix D:\Temp\Extracted_audio -logfile BeSplit.txt -type ac3 -fix

What will be the right coding for me??

Thx for help

Wait... Is this ac3 audio and not mp3? If so, to get the wav file, you need to demux the ac3 from the avi. Just open it in virtualdub and choose direct stream copy for audio and save the wav. Then mearly rename the wav file to ac3. Then open that up in either headac3 or besweet. Convert to wav, then remux with virtualdub. Then try to do it from there.

No it is mp3. Therefor i ask, which is the right coding in my case.

have you tried using nandub to extract the wav? ive heard that it's better at handling audio than virtual dub.

also what error message do you get when extracting the wav and it stops at 15%? does it give you a frame where it stops? more info!

1. No I don't tried nandub.
2. No error message. it simply stops.

I can't give you more info. Thats also what i want ! I never had this problem before. And i convert about 100 movies (avi and dvd source) using d2s.

Thats the reason why i have no idea what to do.

DVD sources work fine everytime, even with AC3

I HAVE tried vDub 2 extract the audio to wave, re-compressing it and muxing it back in 2 the file.. As MP3 or muxing it as PCM WAV back in to the file but this yeilds no sucess.

Can another utility be implemented into DVD2SVCD which can rip the audio from the AVI or is this actually part of DVD2SVCD, a part of the software that was actually built in.
