I followed the guides on doom9 / vcdhelp which were pretty similar.
I had 2 svcd i wanted to put on a DVD-R.

All went fine expect the final result on my standalone DVD player (Pioneer DV-343). I got a Pioneer A04 burner.

Menu is fine
I did a safe zone because of that zoom stuffs and a really quick background to test. (used SpruceUP / Burned the IMG with DVD Decrypter)

Video isn't fine at all
Picture talks for itself.

But the movies play fine. Everything working, expect it wont go fullscreen.

Mebbe someone got an idea ? or it's a known problem ?

Thx :)

i have 2 choices i know

1. not all players are compatible to that "XDVD" format with
that resolution.
i made some tests here with that and they played all fine,
even on ps2 it works with that format.

2. i once had the same with that, what i figured was, i checked
"DVD compliant" in CCE for encoding, and that was it, when i
reencoded the move without that, then it worked fine

thats all i can offer

Your problem is that your dvd player isn't coping with the fact that it's found a video file with the wrong resolution. It's expecting to find a video file which conforms to the dvd spec. SVCD video doesn't, it uses a different resolution which isn't valid for dvd. Which you probably know as you've gone through the procedure to trick Maestro or Spruce Up into accepting the files.

Some dvd players can cope with this but some can't. I've checked the guide and it doesn't show what the solution is. Don't worry there is one though ;)

You need to get hold of MpegRepair and use it to add Pan & Scan info to your video files. You set the p&s info to 480 x 480 (assuming it's an NTSC title). This can take a while, on my slow Duron 800 it does it in real time. Write your dvd and set your player to 4:3 Pan & Scan. It should then hopefully display the picture properly.

PM me if you need any help with MpegRepair as you need a config file to set it up for adding the Pan & Scan info.
