I'm using the latest DVD2SVCD package and it always fails when attempting to build the burn definitions. No custom settings on that page, just the standard.

Any idea why this is happening?

Search, you mean in the forum? I browsed posts for about an hour and read the stickies. It's possible I missed an explanation. Good point, I'll try a serach on "VCDXBuild" in this forum.

Here's the part of the log where it's puking. Do you want the entire log?

- Creating CD-Images using VCDXBuild

CD image #1: CD_Image_File_CD1.bin

Executing VCDXBuild. Commandline:
"C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\VCDImager\VCDXBuild.exe" --verbose --cue-file="H:\Kate & Leopold\SVCD\CD_Image_File_CD1.cue" --bin-file="H:\Kate & Leopold\SVCD\CD_Image_File_CD1.bin" "H:\Kate & Leopold\SVCD\VCDXBuild_Script_1.xml"
VCDXBuild failed to create a bin/cue file!

you should always post your entire log file in case some other settings screwed it up...no worries tho...

im not sure, but it might be that you have the "&" sign in one of your directories....try renaming the directory and maybe it will work??

also try posting your xml file...dunno, but it's worth a shot

Yeah, I just found a thread about non-English characters in the path names. XML...well...crud...it's gone. Um...I'll just retry the project after changing the path names and We'll see if that fixes it. Gonna take a while to build it, though ;)

There's no reason to completely redo the conversion. Simply rename the directory, and use a simple find/replace utility to search for the previous directory name in all the files that were originally created by D2S. Replace the old directory name with the new, and then do a recover. I haven't needed to do something like this, therefore I can't guarantee it will work, but it theoretically should, and if it does it will save you a good lot of time.

The files are probably overwritten at this point. It's been a couple of days and a lot of processing. It's no big deal right now, can just let it run all night. Thanks for the suggestion, though. Probably would save a huge amount of time.

Yes, this method does work and saves HEAPS of time. There is a more thorough explanation on this thread http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?threadid=21955

Hope this helps anyone else reading this thread
