pioneer A04 (region free)

dont know if i'm in the right topic here (newbies), but was wanderin, how do i go about making my pioneer A04 region free?

had a look there,
does it matter that i did not mention that the A04 is a dvd writer??
but while looking i could only find firmware upgrade for a slot style and not a draw like mine, can you use the same upgrade for either drive??
