anyone else videocapture using wmv9

Anyone else tried iuVCR and captured using WMV9?
Its really good quality and the file size is 6.5mb for 1min.
I still prefer capturing to DivX, but wmv9 does work even though its a pain to edit or work with. iuVCR does allow you to pause and resume though.

that's really not a good idea. wmp9 is built to handle DRM and from what is known right now i dont think anybody know's for sure what DRM it currently supports and does not. I due know that wmp9 will for sure support full blown DRM in the future...what it supports now im not too sure of. I would stay away from it however. If you would capture something with it...one day you might not be able to play it back on anything but the pc that captured it without a certificate or something of the sort. Possibly not even be able to play it back if you dont have the current OS installation even and the card that captured it. It's really a who know's issue right now...but i don't suggest wmp9 to anybody who cares about there fair use right's when exercising there fair use activities on a fair use basis. Just because it's your right to capture video...does not mean Microsoft will see it the same way. Be very carefull...you might one day capture a movie or your wedding, or child's birthday, or a graduation of you or a relative...and never be able to watch it again on any other machine with it's current configuration EVER!!!

why even bother with wmp9 anyways. It is inferior to things like vdub and many others when capturing and it's playback support is inferior to applications like zoomplayer and many more. The way i see it is that it is inferior to MANY alternatives and will always be...so why bother....ya know???

With Pioneer releasing a DVD-unit that supports Microsofts wmv9 I can see why people might use it. It does give very good quality ;)
