View Full Version : Creating IFOs in IFOEdit

I tried something new, just to see if it would work...

I ripped in SmartRipper movie mode the main movie (angle 1), 2 ch audio in 1 language, and the subtitles of Shrek in file mode (ie to VOB's).

I then had IFOEdit create new IFO files, which created VTS_01.ifo and VIDEO_TS.ifo.

Ran this in WinDVD, played fine (like a disk). Ran it in IFOEdit player, played fine.

Burned a disk with PrimoDVD, plays on a computer, not on standalone. Burned a second disk (made an image file with IMGTool, burned that) with DVD Decryptor, plays on a computer, not on a standalone.

Anyone know why?

I'm off to demux and reauthor until I can figure out why this didn't work....

Did you use the drop down menu to create the new ifo's? If not you should.

After they were finished processing and before burning, did you reopen the main ifo and choose get vts sectors? If not, you should.

I've split several discs to two recordables and copied several that are small enough using this process and it works really well. No playback problems anywhere.

There's a new version of IFOEdit as of last night at

Good Luck!

I'm a dork. I thought that the create IFO process would automatically get VTS sectors, sure enough, it didn't. I read the new IFOEdit 94 version of the guide for creating IFO's, and it said not only to get VTS sectors, but go in and update the languages for the Subs and Audio tracks (in both vts_01.ifo and video_ts.ifo). Tried it, and that was my problem. Thanks for the response, as always, a bit more searching prior to posting would have been appropriate. Sorry.
